NSW: Longer jail terms for pack rapists foreshadowed=2

The teenage girls were raped repeatedly during a five-hour ordeal 14 months ago, afterthey were left stranded at Beverly Hills railway station and offered a lift by a groupof young men.

The Director of Public Prosecutions appealed against the sentences following an outcryfrom the community and the state government at their leniency.

One of the men, given the pseudonym AEM Senior, who assaulted both 16-year-old girls,was jailed for a maximum six years and minimum four years.

The second, known as KEM, was jailed for five years and seven months with a minimumterm of three years six months.

The third, known as MM, received five years six months, and six years for two countsof aggravated sexual assault to be served concurrently.

Both terms carry a minimum of four years jail.

The hearing is continuing.
