FED: Queens sends message to families of two aid workers

SYDNEY, April 20 AAP - The Queen has sent messages to the families of the two Australian
aid workers accused by Yugoslavia of being NATO spies, saying they are in her thoughts and
prayers.

CARE Australia workers Steve Pratt and Peter Wallace have been held for three weeks after
being detained at the Yugoslav-Croatian border. Australian diplomats are arguing for their
release.

The Queen sent separate messages through Governor-General Sir William Deane to the two
men's families, saying it was a time of deep anxiety for them.

The first, to Mr Pratt's family, said: "I want you to know that Mr Steve Pratt and the
members of his family are in my thoughts and prayers."

An identical form of words was used in the message to Mr Wallace's family.
