Fed: US official says Aust providing invaluable support in Ira
A US defence official's denied a claim by Labor candidate and former army colonel MIKE
KELLY .. that Australian troops are only in southern Iraq to wave the flag.
Secretary of the US Navy .. DONALD WINTER .. says he believes Australian forces in
Iraq play a fantastic role.
He says Australian warships have helped immeasurably in providing security for the
port and oil terminals.
